Sportfishing with Chupu Charters in Haleiwa, home to the only harbor on Oahu's legendary North Shore, is an experience for the offshore angler of any level.
Upon arrival to the boat you will be greeted by Captain Jesse Lovett and your deckhand for the day. You will immediately notice that the boat is clean and very well kept, the cabin has been remodeled to make their guests more comfortable at sea. Everything you will need for an enjoyableday of offshore fishing is on board and in top working order. After your food and gear is stowed and you have been briefed about the boats safety features, it’s off to the fishing grounds in the light of a beautiful Hawaiian-style sunrise. Within minutesof leaving the harbor, the deckhand will have a trolling pattern set up with lures running behind the boat.
Once everything is set the deckhand will get you familiar with how the LARGE rods and reels work and what to do when a fish hits a line.Remember that fishing is fun so don’t be shy, ASK QUESTIONS! Some of their best catches have been made by people who have never fished a day in their lives. Your first fish could be a 400-pound Marlin!
Relax on our well equipted 42' boat the FOXY LADY. Yourday will be spent trolling over the underwater peaks and valleys that surround the island. Some of the most productive spots are between 10 and 25 miles from shore. From the moment you leave, until the last line is reeled in at the end of thedayJesse and crew are constantly scanning the ocean for signs of life. Birds, currents and debris are all indicators that there could be fish in the area. It may take a little while to reach the areas where the fish have been, which is why booking a full day charter is best if you are serious about catching fish!
