Delaware’s location offers more great fisheries than one would expect from such a small state. The streams are stocked at the beginning of every trout season with lots of large trout. They even close the streams for two weeks after stocking to allow the fish to acclimate; this makes for some outstanding fishing all season long. Stripers are phenomenal throughout Delaware; they crowd the tidal rivers, such as the Delaware, and are prevalent in the surf and ocean. Wreck fishing is always exciting and offers the opportunity to catch everything from tog to sharks, tuna, and almost anything else in the ocean. And do not forget about the Delaware Bay that is clogged with stripers most of the year round and still offers many other species to enjoy catching. |
