Minnesota gets its name from the Dakota word minisota, which means “water that reflects the sky”. Minnesota’s name is indeed appropriate because the state has 3,800,000 acres of lakes and 15,000 miles of streams. Minnesota is bordered on the northeast by Lake Superior, which is home to crappie, bluegill, bullhead, muskie, pike, perch, sturgeon, walleye, and all kinds of small and largemouth bass. The Mississippi River has provided many state record fish, and there are a number of coldwater streams to catch trout and salmon. Fishing is great all over Minnesota. |
