Mississippi is world renowned for its catfish the size of a VW Beetle, so they say. Just the same, Mississippi’s reputation as the catfish capitol of the world is well deserved; there is no better catfish fishery anywhere than the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Catching 60-pound catfish is not at all uncommon. On top of its freshwater catfish, the many lakes and rivers offer extraordinary bass and crappie fishing. Last and certainly not least, there is the Gulf of Mexico that holds marlin, tuna, grouper, redfish, cobia, bonito, snapper, dolphin, wahoo, and many other species. Go catch fish off of the oilrigs or cruise the gulf for marlin, either way you cannot go wrong in Mississippi. |
