The Rocky Mountains and pristine waters of Montana create some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world and some of the best fishing as well. Montana’s trout fishing is world famous because of cold-water rivers like the Madison, Yellowstone, Big Hole, and Bighorn. There are also beautiful lakes and reservoirs, like the Canyon Ferry, Clark Canyon, Hebgen, Koocanusa, and Flathead Lakes that hold great trout, kokanee salmon, yellow perch, northern pike, and largemouth bass. In addition, some of the best walleyes in the West come from the Bighorn and Fort Peck Lakes. Sauger, smallmouth bass, and channel catfish can be found in the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers. |
