New Jersey may be among the most densely populated states but that does not seem to bother the fish or the fishermen. There are approximately 173,000 trout stocked into the many rivers of New Jersey every year. The Delaware River offers a spring migration of striped bass that is absolutely unbelievable. The lakes have great largemouth fishing as well as walleye, channel catfish, northern pike, and monster lake trout. And then there is coastal and offshore fishing that is hard to beat. The inshore areas hold redfish, bluefish, spot, flounder, stripers, and many other fish. Going offshore offers the chance to catch of tuna, dolphin, wahoo, marlin, and even an occasional swordfish. |
