New Mexico offers a truly unique fishing experience. There are wide, lazy rivers, slammed with trout, flowing at 6,000 feet elevation and cactus lined shores. Then there are the mountain streams with just as many fish if not more at over 11,000 feet above sea level. There are not many places 20-inch rainbows can be caught at that elevation. This desert climate actually has some of the best and highest densities of trout anywhere in the nation. But do not forget about the fat, desert stripped bass that inhabit New Mexico’s lakes. |
