New York has excellent fishing from border to border. The state has borders on both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario in the west, excellent lakes and river throughout the state, and the Hudson River provides excellent fishing all the way to New York City.LakeErie is loaded with smallmouth bass and a plentiful supply of walleye, steelhead and trout. Lake Ontario has every type of trout imaginable, walleye, bass, salmon, and pike. Lake Champlain is famous for smallmouth, trout, walleye, and pike. The St.Lawrence River holds bass, walleye, and pike, while the Niagara River houses huge musky and lots of bass. The Hudson River is one of the state’s biggest fisheries providing both small and largemouth bass and enormous stripers from the Troy Dam to NYC. |
