New to Kona's sportfishing fleet in January 1999 the Rod Bender has been one of Kona's top producers from the get go. Airconditioned, spotlessly clean and rigged to the teeth with modern electronics and finest fishing tackle available. Why settle for less? Skippered and spotlessly maintained by Capt. Chip Van Mols (20 years professional billfish and big game experience in Kona and world wide) and our professional, friendly crew. Our goal is to provide every customer with a fun and memmorable experience, teaching them the proper techniques to catch the big one. Any and all experience levels are welcome!
We specialize in tag and release of marlin and are more than happy to fillet up enough table fish for you to enjoy fresh during you stay on Hawaii.We find that trolling a mixed spread of lures generally be the most productive method for all species of gamefish here but also specialize in dead and live bait techniques as well as some bait and switch. On our chaters we provide a clean cooler with icefor your drinks, large fridge for dry cold storage of lunches etc..., microwave, full galley, all bait, tackle etc... food and bev is not provided but can be had easily right our harbor deli "the fish dock" or provided by us upon request.

Booking are made direct with Capt. Chip by email or phone. $100.00 per day deposit required and is usually secured with a credit card over the phone or a check may be mailed to my address. deposits are generally only held in the case of a "no show" themorning of the trip. In the unlikley advent of bad weather we'll rescedual your trip or return your deposit. We appreciate the earliest possible notification of any cancelation and during our busy summer season require a 2 week lead time. |
