Diverse is probably the best word to describe Virginia's fisheries. It has remote trout streams in the mountains, spectacular deep sea fishing out of Norfolk, Chincoteague, and other coastal towns; killer stripers in the Chesapeake Bay. And spectacular smallmouth bass fishing can be found throughout Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, the mountains and even in downtown Richmond and beside Washington D.C. There is hardly a place in the state where great fishing is more than minutes away. |
